I start off this month with a pink look in honor of spring/summer. The weather hasn't been very spring like though. It was raining buckets a few days ago and is still so so outside. Whatever, I want it to be spring so my nails will be colorful from now on!

A Dark and Starry Night
Another week, another set of nails! This week I'm posting up my Bloglovin account too. I used to use blogger to keep track of everyone I follow but bloglovin is just easier. If you have an account - follow me please! :) Now on to this week's nails...

The Essie Chronicles - Part One
Consider this my late Valentine's Day post. I was a single girl this year and spent most of it working (being a career woman is tough on the love life!). What wasn't tough? Doing my nails! :)
This week I'm introducing my favorite Essie polish...while also continuing my love affair with glitter.

Where's The Turkey?
Hey Ladies! Another delayed holiday post!
This time I'm posting up my Thanksgiving/Fall mani from last year. This is another glitter combo I thought worked well for both work and normal life. I confess I've become a bit of a glitter addict lately, so a lot of my manicures will probably have some sort of glitter in them in the next coming weeks. I don't do anything too bright though, since it's winter and I work in an office setting.

Speckles of Blood
Happy New Year!!
I hope everyone had a great start to 2014. I spent the end of the year at home with family and mostly working. My blogging took a backseat due to real life but I'm back with some delayed posts for you all! :)
Check out my Halloween look from October....

International Love
Hello lovelies!
This past weekend I visited ULTA and bought two new polishes. I couldn't help myself and I wiped off my Mermaid look early to go for a dark plum one.

Under the Sea
Hey everyone!! Happy Easter :)
This is my first post in ages. Rather than give explanations (which all revolve around work) let's get straight to the main show - my nails! This is week I went with glitter rather than any type of Easter theme.

Blue Moon
Hey Everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your summer.
I took a mini vacation last week and visited the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I stopped by Amish country and fell in love with the people and the beautiful scenery. But I ate way too much! I definitely gained 10 pounds in the three days that I was there lol. I also used my vaca as an opportunity to give my nails a break from polish. I thought they would hold up nicely, but I ended up with almost all of them breaking and having to file them down.
With my nails so short, I thought I'd go simple this week and just wear a light shade of blue. I decided to spice it up last minute and threw on some star/glitter polish I picked up at Forever 21.

Barbie Goes To The Disco
I don't like my nails this week. But because I swore that I would chronicle the good and the bad of my adventures in nail art...I've posted this. I admit that I think it's better than my crackle disaster, but still up there with nail experiments I won't repeat again. lol
I started with a base of Bubblegum Pink by Sally Hansen. It reminded of the iconic Barbie pink and it had a nice shimmer to it. My beef with this polish is that it's promoted as an "Xtreme wear" polish and it didn't even last a day! It had chips in it by the next afternoon, which forced me to fill in the gaps for the pictures.

Pass Me A Grape
Hello my Chickadees!!!
I was out sick and work kept me away, but now that is no more! I'm BACK! :)
This week the weather is beautiful and I decided to sport a grape glitter combo to say hello to the new season. I used to be iffy on glitter but now it seems like every other mani I do has glitter incorporated into it. I've become a glitter fiend!
This week I used two polishes - Brucci and Wet n Wild Color icon.
I started off with two coats of Brucci's purple -- which really could have been one coat but I was neurotic and did two -- and then laid on a clear top coat to seal it in. My next step was figuring out how to add in the glitter. At first I was going to do a classic french tip, but I decided to play around with tape instead.

Cake Mix
Hello Hello! :) I hope everyone is doing well!
This week's color is a combo of blue hues -- an old Color Club polish and Revlon's Whimsical. I was leery about buying Whimisical because of all the mixed reviews on other blogs, but the soft color and glitter combination was too cute to pass up.
I started off with two coats of color club as a base and sealed it with a topcoat to avoid chipping. I followed this up by several coats of Revlon. And I say several coats because the glitter is hard to place on your nails with the brush. So I ended up dotting the brush over each nails and trying to shake off the glitter.

Her Royal Glitterness
Yup, the glitter has arrived!
I succumbed to the glitter craze a few weeks ago and bought a bottle of Frenzy by Sinful Colors. The tiny specks of light blue mixed with purple called to me while I was shopping at Target. Actually a lot of the bottles at Target called to me but I decided to go with the least expensive of the bunch (Essie was 8.50!) and picked the Sinful Colors brand. So far it's become one of favorite color combinations.
I layered it on top of a coat of one of my new Melamy colors (which I've gone and named Royalty). I went with two coats of Royalty and two coats of Frenzy.

Glitter and Hearts
So I decided to go with pink for this week's color. I was doing Black Friday shopping and picked up a bottle of Opi by Nicole - Love Your Life at Target. It was $6.50, which isn't much of a bargain but I couldn't help it. The pink hearts and glitter were too pretty to pass up!
I started off with a layer of Sally Hansen as a base and then added two coats of CQ's peachy keen. The actual hearts and glitter were a lot more difficult to apply than I imagined. The brush wouldn't pick up the little plastic hearts and when I did grab one...well they didn't exactly stick. But eventually I got the hang of it and was able to place a few hearts on each nail.
