The Essie Chronicles - Part One

Consider this my late Valentine's Day post.  I was a single girl this year and spent most of it working (being a career woman is tough on the love life!).  What wasn't tough? Doing my nails! :)
This week I'm introducing my favorite Essie polish...while also continuing my love affair with glitter.

End of Summer Strawberry!

Happy October! :)
Though you wouldn't believe it if you lived in NY.  The weather here has been hot during the day - 85 degrees last Wednesday - What is up with that?  I'm ready for fall and all my chunky sweaters and boots.   My mani this week is my official call to the end of summer weather.

Confetti My Heart

Hello!  :)
I have not been a faithful blogger...but I have been a faithful nail lover!! lol  I just haven't had time to take pictures as much as I would like.  I will strive to be better!
Since my last post - I've bought three more bottles of polish (yes it's an addiction I'm not fighting) and a few nail art pens.  I decided to go dotty this week to try out the pens and see what I came up with as a design.
Turquoise & Caicos by Essie
I started off with a Essie's Turquoise & Caicos as a base.  It's a sea green color that reminds me of the ocean.  It goes on a bit shear so I ended up layering on about four coats to really get the color in the bottle.

Let's Do The Polka!

Happy Friday! :)
So about a week ago I was over at Rebecca Likes Nails (one of my favorite bloggers!) and noticed that she was doing a nail art contest.  At first I wasn't really thinking of entering because my designs are pretty simple and I am new at this whole nail art world (hence the "Rookie" in my blog name).  But after spending an hour surfing through nail blogs I figured...what the hell!
I was inspired and decided to go for one of the simplest of her requirements - dots.
I actually think it turned out rather well for my first time at polka dots.  I went for a peach color and used a white Sally Hansen nail art pen instead of a dotting tool for the dots.

Dash Of Spring

Howdy! :)
This week is all about welcoming spring back.  I have quite a few winter polishes left over that still need to be used so I'm going to do a mix and match of bright and dark colors.  Last week's polish was mostly dark with a dash of yellow.  You like? :)

I'm sorry for the nail quality.  I took the picture after a week of wearing the color so you can see a bit of my nail growing out.  I had to fill out a few chips but they're hardly noticeable.  I think the color held up well actually.
