Let's Do The Polka!

So about a week ago I was over at Rebecca Likes Nails (one of my favorite bloggers!) and noticed that she was doing a nail art contest.  At first I wasn't really thinking of entering because my designs are pretty simple and I am new at this whole nail art world (hence the "Rookie" in my blog name).  But after spending an hour surfing through nail blogs I figured...what the hell!
I was inspired and decided to go for one of the simplest of her requirements - dots.

I actually think it turned out rather well for my first time at polka dots.  I went for a peach color and used a white Sally Hansen nail art pen instead of a dotting tool for the dots.

The nail art pen went on a little bit too light but I think that's my fault.  I wasn't pressing hard enough on my nail with the pen.  I know a lot of people use bobby pins or the ends of toothpicks to make their dots so I might try that next time.

Haute As Hello by Essie

My base color was an Essie polish that was sort of a cross between peach and a very light orange.  I'm leaning more towards peach though to describe it.  I found this one at a local beauty store for 4.99! A much better price than the teal I bought a few weeks back.

Do you like? I really love it and the girls at work all said it was very spring like! :)
